Before moving day
Separate valuables, essential documents and items you will carry yourself. Confirm packing materials and decide which possessions the helper can pack. Share the mover schedule and highlight anything requiring specialist handling.
Plan the clean around access
A final clean is easier to scope when the property is empty, but moving schedules do not always allow it. Explain what will remain and whether access depends on movers or key collection.
- Confirm when the old property becomes empty.
- Check when you can access the new property.
- Keep cleaning and packing scopes separate.
- Allow for changes in key or mover timing.
Unpack the rooms you need first
Beds, basic kitchen items and everyday clothes often make the first evening more manageable. Keep the correct clean linen and essential boxes accessible, then agree where the helper should put items.
Confirm what is outside the plan
Packing support does not automatically include transport or heavy furniture. Cleaning does not guarantee an inspection or bond outcome. Identify repairs, specialist lifting, waste removal and other separate arrangements before the move.
