Arranging pet care while you are away.

Prepare a clear routine for visits, feeding, walks and communication before leaving home.

Describe the actual care you need

A feeding visit, a dog walk, several hours of company and an overnight stay are different arrangements. Explain which you need, the dates involved and whether the care will take place in your home.

Agree a familiar routine

Share food portions, walk preferences and how your pet behaves around people and other animals. The team needs to assess suitability rather than assume every pet can be cared for in the same way.

  • Leave the usual food and supplies available.
  • Agree visit frequency and approximate timing.
  • Discuss access through a private channel.
  • Provide emergency contacts directly to the team.

Separate ordinary care from medical needs

If your pet has medication, exercise limits or other specific needs, discuss those before booking. Ordinary sitting, walking and feeding are not veterinary services or continuous medical supervision.

Confirm the arrangement before you leave

An online enquiry is not a confirmed visit. Make sure dates, scope, access and communication have been agreed, and tell the team if your travel plans change.
